Margaret LeAnn Rimes Cibrian was born in Texas and began taking singing lessons at age five. The first album she released, Blue, for which she won two Grammy Awards, helped make her one of America's most well-known country artists. Rimes was a prodigy in her youth who began singing lessons as young as age 5. Rimes also appeared at local theaters, cable television events, and at other venues throughout Texas. Her breakthrough in her career was achieved in the form of Blue her debut studio album. She began her career with listened to traditional country music.
